Creative Industries

The Level Centre is a development centre for Creative Industries in rural Derbyshire. Operated by First Movement, and base for its operations, it brings the kind of facilities normally only found in cities to the heart of rural Derbyshire.

First Movement is pioneering new arts technologies to create digital clusters for creative collaboration. The Centre will be home for its world-leading arts projects with learning disabled people, as well as offering new resources for creative industries in the Derbyshire Dales and High Peak.

In addition the Level Centre is a home and workspace for many other arts organisations including Arts in the Peak.

The Centre includes a dedicated media editing studio, a state of the art video conferencing studio, as well as meeting space and small starter studios for new creative businesses.

It is currently being used as a workshop space for start-up creative industries, a training centre for people developing new creative ideas, and as a meeting place for local creatives.

All of this in a stunning RIBA Award winning building designed by London based Clash Associates.
