First Movement was founded in 1988 to promote opportunities for learning disabled people to become involved in arts and creative projects. Its main projects have been based in Derbyshire, the City of Derby, and in Leicestershire and Rutland. It is now expanding its work across the East Midlands, bringing learning disabled people together through its unique Level project, which enables people who are many miles apart to collaborate on creative projects through a live video link.
